Dr. Krown is a medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of malignant melanoma and the malignancies associated with AIDS and HIV infection. Her major clinical interests are in developing better therapies for both melanoma and Kaposi’s sarcoma, with a particular research interest in translating laboratory research that investigates the causes of Kaposi’s sarcoma, the most common AIDS-associated cancer, into new approaches to treatment.  Dr. Krown was very active in the leadership of the AIDS Malignancy Consortium, a National Cancer Institute research consortium, and served as the head of its Human Papilloma Virus Working Group. Dr. Krown is an emeritus staff member of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
